It's been a long time...

since I've updated this;;.

Been so busy.

basically, I just need a place to make a list. I just need a plan.

1. Money. I hate saying this. I'm never one to be like that, but I really need it right now. I want to have enough that I'm not freaking out over 'can i get this? what will i have to give up for this?' :/ it's hard. I need a job, or I need my shows to start really paying:(.

2. Jump Starting. I need my takeoff. I need my musician-ness to take off. or go to the next level. I need to get a real plan, instead of winging it and just going along for the ride. This is getting to be just too much.

3. Minnesota. I've been telling my friends I'm gunna see them for too long. I really just need to get my ass out there. Even if it's just a week. It's gotta happen THIS summer.

4. a Job. I really don't want to do this. But if the whole show thing isn't paying it, I need a second source of income. I hate asking parents for cash. I need my own way.

5. Y.O.U. I really want to be regional for '11. That means I need to start working towards this goal NOW. I need to live in the now. I need to also plan for the future. I need to work on my spirituality, and my beliefs. I need to work on my meditative side.

Thank god it's the summer and I don't have to worry about school for another few months. This next year will be the hardest school year ever, Junior year. No more underclassmen. Upperclass, harder work. No slacking off. I gotta get my GPA up. Even if I'm not planning on college, I have to know my options so I don't live in a cardboard box for my life. I need a plan. I need a route. I need a road.

6. I NEED TO START DRIVERS TRAINING. Self explainatory. :O

Cause I had a brainstorm, and needed a place to put it...

Here's a deep question for you; What defines good music? does it have to be the lastest rap that T.I. or Lil' Wanye conjured up? Some soft folk song with sweet lyrics and meaning full guitar? Some hardcore screams and rockin' synth? What is music? Where does it come from? Who is there to judge, say that one thing is better than the other? I believe music is a form of expression. Expression, is the creativity that flows in each and everyone. Some have tapped into that better than others, some are working there way to fully grab that concept. My music is no different. It comes directly from the heart. Everything I write, I deal with daily or have dealt with at a specific point in my life. My guitar can be both gentle and rock. I'd define myself as indie, rock, folk, pop, but who is there to really judge what exactly I am? I am something completely different. I don't try to be the next [Insert act of choice]. I pride myself in being MYSELF. I am real. I am new. I am something you've never heard before. And I'm grateful for this.

All I'm saying is do you, do you wanna risk it all?

February is almost complete, but I'm in my craziest week so far this year.
Noteworthy things that happened this month.

Feb 1st - Wrote "What We Are"

Feb 2nd - finished "Realize, Your Real Eyes."

Feb 8th - Jackie came over so we could go to the concert. Matt dropped by to get us the tickets. Concert; Crimes Against Nature, So Let Go!, Redstar Redemption, Alls Quiet, With Wings Of Lead. This was Dream In Stereo's release party. Was wayyyyyy to tired to stay for Dream In Stereo. hahah. One of the members of their band kept trying to talk to me and Jackie. It was awkward.

Feb 9th - Recordingggggggg CD!

My phone broke on Thursday the 12th and I had to call in to five different stores before I could find a replacement phone on Friday the 13th.

Feb 14th - Emily's birthday party. Scavenager hunt at the mall. That was fun. Was on Emily's team. we won:). went back to her place and ate a lot of food. Was also valentine's day. ha, ohkay then.

Feb 17th - Mannz birthday:)

Feb 19th - Had an interview via phone with The Rochester Post, newspaper, and had an interview, the editor of the paper came to my house with The Ecentric, newspaper. funfunfun. Then an hour later, Jackie came over. went to Jesse McCartney. met up with Jamie+peeps:). insanely cold/fun. Jesse was reallyyyyyy good.

Feb 24th - Got posters for big showwwwww.

Feb 25th - Recording studiooooo, FINISHED EP!!! :D

tomorrow, (feb 26th) I'm duplicating CDs, probs like 100 or 200. and Saturday, and the last day of feb (28th) is my biggggg show at the library. I'm so so excited. and so nervous at the same time. I hope as many people as possible come out for the show:)

It's February. Already. Dang, time reallyyyyy flies.
Basically, starting like, January 26th, I started writing, everyday.
A poem, a song, whatever I felt to do at that moment.
It's been a really creative journey that I love, because Feb 1 and 2 I wrote a new song both days,
which gives me more songs to add the the EP and the set list. ;D
I've also, been posting everyday, on this other site, Live Journal. I sorta enjoy it more :p

I've been working really hard on everything musically lately, I'm going to a new studio on monday to finish up my EP hopefully for its release at the end of this month! My music myspace has two songs up currently, both rough/raw demos. And I had a photoshoot at the end of this month. I went through a week of insane depression the last week of january. I got out of that hole. I've been really feeling a lot lately. really having a lot of emotions, both good and bad.
What defines an emotion to be bad though? while in my depression state, was when i started the writing, they're pretty deep, but they're good too. hmmm. I like to think about things a lot lately. I just will go on and on about everything and anything. ha, sorry, I also ramble a ton. ;D peace.

Jonas Brothers ticket sale. shit. I woke up at 4 AM. got down to the Fox Theatre at 5AM. got 14th row for 8PM show. 4th row orchestera pit for 4PM show. my mom got 4 tickets for 20th row.

Famous For Something Disbanded.

Jonas Brothers concert day. saw them twice on the 23rd. ha, great times. had guitar class that morning too. Tricked teenies into thinking I had Nick and Kevin guitar picks. haha. Had two cameras and a MP3 Recording Device and my phone. Craziness. Almost got Kevin's pick, then Teeny stole it. Met Mrs. Jonas. sweetest woman alive. 8PM show. Almost fell asleep during. Saw Rooney 2 times that day too.

This year had many up and downs. Last year, I hardly knew anyone at my school. I really had hardly any friends. And I didn't really try much. This year, I have more of a foundation under me. I know more people. I actually am starting to like my new city. 2008 brought me many good times.

1. Go to more concerts this year (won't be a problem.)
2. Enjoy myself more.
3. Advance my musical career.

RECAPPING JANUARY.

January 4th - I had another show at the factory. It was pretty funnnn. (: there's a bunch of videos of it on youtube. just search Laura Jean Factory Michigan or something and you'll find 'em. There was this amazing band that played after me, Sideline High. I love them. (: we swapped merch and stuff.

January 5th - Back to school from winter vaca. :[

January 9th - Had another show. That was insanely fun. Sold like three posters, that was good. Had tooooo much fun autographing them. hahaha. There's like a video on youtube of it or something.

January 14, 15, 20 - EXAMS. that wasn't fun.

January 17th - Solo & Ensemble. Ensemble got 1. Solo got 2. I deffff didnt know Danza, Danza at all. I hate other languages. :p

January 22nd - So Let Go! at the iLounge. reallyyyyy fun show. There was around 30 - 50 ish people there. SLG played last. There were a few other good bands too. Like, the summer highlight, I loveee their music. Good show. Was fun fun fun. I went with Jacqueline.

January 24th - I SEE STARS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i love them so much. At the premiere. It was an awesome show. So Let Go opened the show, they did really good. then Ocean's Skyline played, I hardly watched their set. then Halfway to Winter. I love them! thennnnnnnnnn, two other people played. I didnt really pay much attention during them, cause i didnt really like 'em so much. :p then I See Stars! Ah, i love them. I got in the pit, and it was ohkay, untill I got like hit down reallyyyyyy hard and stepped on and shit. that sucked. my left elbow STILL hurts insanely terrible. I feel like i broke itttt. Me and Alix took pictures with like, everyone. haha. I went with Alix, Brie, and Anthony. :D

January 25th - Photoshoot!!! yes. it was amazing. I had three different looks. One was like, preppy. one was hippie. one was formal-ish. i guess. haha. It was really fun. we did it at the studio this time. the photos will be on myspace or something sooonnn? not sure when. This photoshoot was for EP cover and Promotions ;] it was hella fun. (:

and prety much that's what happened this monthhhhhh.

nothing more is gunna really happen i dont think. hahaha.
